I can’t believe that in three weeks, I’ll actually be hitting the 30th week in quarantine. I still had to take things a little bit slow this week, but thankfully, things picked up a lot for me in the second half of the week.
Last week I actually went on a staycation, which, I think came at the perfect timing because of the whirlwind of happenings and emotions that happened right before the staycation happened and right after it.
I really can’t believe that it’s September already. It honestly doesn’t feel like the start of the Christmas season at all, as I’m accustomed to hearing Christmas music being played in the convenience store or on radio stations. This week, although there were some fun highlights, I did feel pretty tired, which is making me way more excited for the staycation I’m planning to take this week.
I can’t believe that it’s already September, the month where, in my country, malls and radio stations start playing Christmas songs. However, as most of us are staying at home, we’ll be the ones playing it in our homes. It also makes me wonder how Christmas and New Year’s festivities will be this year. One thing’s for sure, it’ll probably be over Zoom calls or social distanced as we have no idea when the curve will flatted over here.
I am not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it before, but ever since I was a kid, I’ve moved more than ten times; and at one point, we moved thrice within the same village. So, it’s no surprise that over the weekend, we decided to do a little rearranging and actually moved into different rooms, within our house. What nobody tells you though, is the fact that moving out of a room and into a new room is just as exhausting as moving houses.
I think I put a little bit too much pressure on myself this week towards the end of the week as compared to the previous weeks due to the fact that there were some work goals I wanted to accomplish that I was really worried about not being able to complete, which caused me a lot of stress last Thursday and Friday. Despite the work stress and some emotional outbursts during the week, this week has been a lot better as compared to recent weeks.
This week went more smoothly than I thought it would, ad I think that it was mostly because I was able to get better quality sleep, and I was able to adjust well to another new schedule. Another thing was that I did make sure that I really had things that I was able to really look forward to at the end of the week, which, in a way, did keep me going.
Even though the rainy season began in June, I’m only feeling it now because the rains have gotten stronger, as monsoon rains are really here. It’s a very different experience experiencing the two main seasons we have here stuck at home, and it certainly does have its perks, like not needing to worry about how hot and humid it will be and my shoes not getting destroyed if you have to walk a little bit around the city where I work. However, there are some things that never change, such as my seasonal allergies.
The past couple of weeks definitely took a toll on me, which resulted in me trying to take it easier although I still had to balance work with chores. That, being more kind to myself, having a more positive attitude, and more sleep helped improve things a lot!
The last couple of weeks have definitely taken a toll on me, both emotionally and physically. That, combined with other not so great unexpected surprises that kept on throwing me off caused me to have mini meltdowns for around three or four days straight, which was not fun at all. Thankfully, I was able to have therapy this week, and I came out of it with more realistic goals, and a better mindset to tackle everything that will be thrown my way in the next couple of weeks. Aside from that, actually getting a lot of sleep and sleeping in a bit of Sunday helped a lot.
