Update: Welcome to 2021!

As usual, with these types of posts, I’m pretty late, but nonetheless, I’d like to greet everyone a Happy New Year!

2020 was a pretty strange year, what with the pandemic and community quarantine lockdowns. It was definitely a year of a lot of changes, and for me, it was a time to really grow. During the year, the thing that actually got me really going were my weekly Aspergirl Diaries series, wherein I shared my favorite five things from the previous week and what I’m looking forward to in the coming week, and I also talked a little bit about the week that was. Actually, that was the only thing I ended up doing on this blog for last year.

This year, though, will be an exciting one, as I’ll be coming back full force on this blog! I have a lot of exciting plans for The Asian Aspergirl, and my main goal for this year is try to be more consistent in delivering content to you guys at least twice or thrice a month. Aside from this, I am currently gearing up for the launch of the Asian Aspergirl YouTube channel, which I’ve actually been planning for a couple of months now. I already know what I want to show you guys, and I’ve been starting to film footage for it, but I think that I might not be able to launch it until February, as I want to have enough time to make sure that things are perfect; and because I want to be able to post a couple of blog posts here before I do so.

In any case, 2021 is definitely going to be an exciting and busy one for this space, so definitely stay tuned for all the things to come!

Here’s a rundown of everything that’s coming to the blog this year!

The Asian Aspergirl’s YouTube Channel- The big announcement and the biggest project for this space for me this year will be this one! I’m currently starting to film footage for this, so expect this one to launch sometime in February! Some of these videos will be more lifestyle and productivity related stuff, others will feature tips and hacks, all from an Aspergirl’s perspective. I’ll also be sharing my 2021 goals for myself, and I’ll be sharing some of my hobbies, creative projects and special interests as well. The biggest challenge for me will be documenting my own journey as I, a mysophobe, will be starting to acclimate myself to going out again. I have spoken to my therapist, and we have a gameplan for this, so you’ll see this unfold on my channel as well. When I post these videos here, each video will actually correspond to a particular series I have on this blog.

The Aspergirl on The Job- This is a series that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time, given the fact that I have a lot of experiences now, and especially as I tried out so many different jobs before landing my current one, where I’m really happy at. I’ll be sharing my own story as someone whose been working for more than ten years now, as well as some tips and pointers regarding choosing the right job, choosing the kind of job perfect for you (freelance or full time), and tips on how to navigate and survive office and work life.

The Aspergirl Reviews- I’ve been avoiding doing this because I’m not sure how comfortable I am watching movies or tv shows that feature people like me, but I think its high time for me to start this up again. These will be less technical reviews and will focus on how well the portrayal was. Let me know in the comments section below if there are any fiction books or any tv shows or movies that would be good for me to review (it can be Western or Asian)!

The Adulting Aspergirl- This series will be me sharing how I’m navigating “adulting” in life, while sharing some tips and tricks for it as well!

The Aspergirl Reflects- These posts won’t be as frequent as the others, but it’ll be my safe space to react and talk about topics that really impact me. I think the last time I did this, I talked about my journey in the workforce and another talked about mental health in my country. I’d honestly like to do more of these this year. Feel free to leave any topics I can talk about in the comments section below!

The Aspergirl’s Lifestyle Chronicles- This one, I think, is going to be my favorite series among all of the things I have planned. This will be the section of my blog where I talk about having a balanced lifestyle- whether it be mental health or physical health. I’ll be sharing tips on self-care days, show you guys how I plan out my week, share and show stuff such as life admin days, etc. I can’t wait for this one!

The Aspergirl Challenges….- This is where I’ll be sharing my journey as I challenge myself to something this year. My biggest one is challenging on learning how to go back outside again, as I haven’t really gone out of my house since March 2020. I’ll also be sharing my creative projects here as well.

The Apsergirl Explains- This is a section that has never left this blog since it started. It is here where I’ll get more technical, and where I’ll be explaining things related to Asperger’s or autism in layman’s terms so that more people can understand these things. Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments section below on what terms you want me to tackle this year!

The Aspergirl Diaries- I had so much fun doing this, so I tried to figure out a way on how to change it up this year. So, instead of weekly, this section will be monthly. In these, I’ll be recapping my month, sharing how I did in reaching my goals, sharing my ten favorite things for the month; sharing my plans for the upcoming month as well as sharing the ten things I’m most excited for in the upcoming month. The Aspergirl Diaries will never die!

As you can see, I do have a lot planned out for this year, so please do stay tuned for all of these things, and feel free to leave your suggestions for me in the comments below!

I can’t wait to show and share these with all of you!

Cheers to 2021!
